Motivational Interviewing

Watch Motivational Interviewing and Reflective Listening in Action!

Here's a bit of context for what you're about to see.

This session is with Blake, who is one of the young men staying at Greenville Transitions (sober living). He's working on his sobriety and making great progress but is getting some pressure from his wife to stop vaping nicotine.

I think you'll find this to be a really great example of AMBIVALENCE! There's a part of Blake that wants to stop and yet another part that doesn't.

This session is a little longer than 30 minutes, but I think it's totally worth watching.

You'll get to watch how the conversation unfolds and best of all, you'll see how Blake's thinking shifts throughout the session.

Keep in mind..... This is a real session, and I don't expect family members to have to be counselors. There's a big difference in the way you relate to a loved one vs. how I interact with a client, but I think seeing these skills in action will help you understand the overall spirit of Motivational Interviewing and also reflective listening!
